One bet on one outcome. If it is right, you are paid at the odds. The easiest to understand and to control.
Accumulator (parlay)
Several selections combined into one bet; all must win. Odds multiply, so the potential return is large — but the chance of every selection landing falls sharply with each added match, and the bookmaker's margin compounds too. A long accumulator behaves much like a high-volatility slot: frequent losses, occasional big wins.
System bets
Combinations of several smaller accumulators from a set of selections, so not every pick has to win for a return. Total cost is higher because it consists of many bets.
Handicap
Gives one side a virtual advantage or deficit to balance an uneven match. Asian handicaps use quarter or half lines to reduce the chance of a draw; the payout rules for quarter lines need careful reading.
Over/under
A bet on total goals, points or games above or below a line, regardless of who wins.

Reading the bet slip
